SENIOR COSTING ESTIMATING ENGINEER, Financial Services – Qatar / Doha & Ras Laffan QP/Shell Petrochemical project is a joint project between QP and Shell to develop a new JV petrochemical complex at Ras Laffan (80% QP / 20 % Shell) to add value to ethane and Propane from North Field and ensure optimum utilization of Qatar’s hydrocarbon resources. As a globally-advantaged petrochemical growth platform in Ras Laffan Industrial City the project is set for mechanical completion by Q2 2016 with start-up by end of Q3 2016. The project configuration as the base case is mixed feed cracker and aiming for production of Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG), Linear Alpha Olefins, and Propylene based OXO Alcohols
Critical to your responsibilities will be to review and update cost estimating and control cost expenditures. Drive the development of the sechedule deliverables for overall project & EPC Plans, Job Specifications and FEED& EPC contracting. You will also play a major role to protect QP’s interests when negotiating with joint venture partners and contractors. You will also being developing the Gates schedule for the various sub-project facilities, and integration in an overall project schedule. Provides advice on schedule development, schedule and cost control requirements, overall adequacy of the contractor’s procedures, possible courses of corrective action, etc. In addition, reviews the contractor’s planning and scheduling systems and procedures as regards to their adequacy: in planning cost controller and scheduling organization and personnel, degree of details to be included, schedule updating procedures, schedule control procedures, etc.
Degree in Engineering. Higher academic or professional qualification (Masters or MBA). Proven experience in scheduling for Major Petrochemical Projects in FEED through to Handover. Proven experience in scheduling of EPC Major projects with multiply contractor organisation. Strong technical understanding of Petrochemical FEED /EPC contractors personal in cost, planning and scheduling areas. Strong experience in costing and estimation in a large operator is essential
